Gabriel “Gabe” Cloud Hill III, 89, husband of Roseann Mundy Hill, resident of Country Club Drive, entered into rest Saturday April 13, 2024, at the Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont.

Born on December 20, 1934, in Spartanburg to the late Gabriel Cloud Hill Jr. and the late Margaret Law Hill, Gabe graduated from Spartanburg High School in 1953, he then graduated from Georgia Tech on June 6, 1957. He started playing golf at age 14 at the Spartanburg Country Club where he was Club Champion. In his freshman year, he qualified for the Georgia Tech Golf Team by making a Hole in One. A proud member of Sigma Chi, he was active in the Charlotte Georgia Tech Club where he served as chairman of its scholarship committee for many years. Gabe was also involved with the Alumni Association’s Career Services office. Gabe retired from SP Associates where he served as owner and general manager.

A member of First Presbyterian Church Greenwood, he was a kind hearted, gentle man, a real people person, whom had the purest soul.

Surviving other than his loving wife of 41years, of the home, are his children, Gabriel C. Hill IV and wife Danielle, Starr Hill Bennett and husband Kevin, Dawn Hill Terte and husband Mitchell; four grandchildren; and a great grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday April 19, 2024, at 2:00 P.M from the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Kyle Hite officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, six miles outside of Abbeville. 

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the hour of service in the vestibule of the church.
