Frances Allen Hill Sherard

Frances Hill Sherard, 93, resident of 103 Mt. Carmel Rd. peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday Nov. 26, 2007 at her home.

Born in Abbeville Co. SC she was a daughter of the late Jack and Elizabeth Eskew.

Mrs. Sherard was a retired textile weaver with Jackson Mills in Iva, SC. She made many friends during her years there but cherished her relationship with her best friend Doris Lowe of Anderson, SC. She fully enjoyed life and was best known for never meeting a stranger. She was a loyal and faithful member of the Abbeville Congregational Holiness Church.

Survivors include 2 daughters Linda Sorrow and her husband Fletcher of Abbeville, SC and Faye Alexander and her husband Thomas also of Abbeville, SC; 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son James D. Hill and a grandson David A. Hill.

She was twice married first to the late George Hugh Hill for 54 years until his death in 1983. then married the late Samuel W. Sherard, Jr. in 1995 until his death in 2003.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday Nov. 28, 2007 at 3:00 PM from Congregational Holiness Church with the Rev. Tye Sorrow officiating. The burial will follow in Midway Baptist Church Cemetery. The family is at the home of her daughter Mr. & Mrs. Fletcher Sorrow 22 Colony East Abbeville, SC.

The body is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home. The family will recieve friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM Wednesday afternoon prior to services in the sanctuary of the church.
