Frances Childs Roberson

Frances E. Roberson (nee Childs), 88, a resident of Riverview Estates in Riverton for the past seven years, passed away into God's loving and eternal care on Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010, at Virtua Hospital in Mt. Holly.

Born in Elberton Ga., she lived in Florence for 34 years before moving to South Carolina in 1979. She returned to Florence in 2001 before moving to Riverton. In her early years, Mrs. Roberson worked as an aircraft riveter, and later as a bus driver for the Florence Township school system for 20 years. She was a member of the Roebling American Legion Unit 39 Ladies Auxiliary, and enjoyed gardening and reading.

Wife of the late Edward Roberson, she is survived by her three sons, Lanny Roberson and wife Patsy of The Villages, Florida, Barry Roberson and wife Jodi of Medford and Rodney Roberson and wife Noreen of Surf City; a daughter, Bonnie Barry and husband John of Levittown, Pa.; three sisters, Erma Nathan of Yardley, Pa. and Nell Wiley and Bobbie Mundy both of Abbeville, S.C. In addition she leaves 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and their families.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, Jan. 7, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Abbeville, S.C with the Rev. Randy Taylor.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Riverview Estate, 203 Bank Ave., Riverton, NJ 08077.
