Frances Long Broome

January 24, 1930 — July 9, 2002

Frances Long Broome, 72, of 438 Old Abbeville Highway died Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at Self Regional Health Care in Greenwood.

Born in Honea Path, she was a retired medical secretary and a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church. She was the former president of the Women of New Hope Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of Caring and Sharing, the church choir and the Rose Garden Club.

Surviving are sons, Tommy Broome, Jimmy Broome and Mark Broome, all of Abbeville, and Bob Broome of Atlanta; daughter, Robin Broome of Abbeville; brother, Theron Long of Antreville; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was the widow of William "Buddy" Broome and the daughter of the late James C. and Myrtle West Broome.

Services are at 11 a.m. Friday at New Hope Presbyterian Church by Rev. George Busch; burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. The body is at the Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

The family will be at the home.
