Florence Lovern Driggers, 90, resident of 810 Anderson St. widow of the Rev. H.L. Driggers passed away Tuesday July 7, 2009 at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood, SC.
Born in Commerce, Georgia she was a daughter of the late Bud and Belle Broome Lovern.
She was a retired textile employee with over 40 years of service at various textile plants. She was a member of Cherry Hill Church of God in Salem, SC. She will be remembered as a loving mother, sister and grandmother of her loving family and will be missed by her many friends.
Survivors include 1 son Gene Driggers and his wife Betty of Calhoun Falls, SC; 1 brother Ralph "Pete" Lovern and his wife Shirley of Orangeburg, SC; 7 grandchildren Michelle Cox and Angela Mobley of Calhoun Falls, SC, Sandy Purdy and Jody Driggers of Abbeville, SC, Molly Shaw, Phyllis Ball and JoAnn Etheridge of Elloree, SC; 14 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Jimmy Driggers and a daughter Nancy Ray.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday July 9, 2009 at 4:00 PM in The Chandler Chapel at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with the Rev.'s John Tyson and Marvin Lee and Mr. Bill Scott officiating. The burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. The family is at the home of her son Mr. & Mrs. Gene Driggers 810 Anderson St. Calhoun Falls, SC.
Mrs. Driggers is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday evening.
Pallbearers will be Mike Alewine, Mike Johnson, Jody Driggers, Doug McCall, DeWitt Strickland and Roger Purdy.
