Ethan Chase McCord, 12, of 3014 Stevenson Road died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, at his home.

He was a member of Southside Baptist Church.

Surviving are parents, James Preston and Virginia Whiten McCord of the home; brother, Brad McCord of the home; paternal grandfather, Bradley McCord of Abbeville; maternal grandmother; Sophie Whtien of Abbeville; and great-grandmother, Virginia Whiten of Abbeville.

He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Eva Mae McCord.

Services are at 4 p.m. Friday at Southside Baptist Church by the Rev. Earl Hartley; burial will be in Long Cane Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home, Abbeville.

The family will be at the home.

The family suggests memorials be to The Southeast Chapter of BDSRA, 6301 Bayswater Trail, Raleigh, N.C. 27612, c/o Charlie Leffler, Treasurer.

The family suggests that flowers be omitted.
