Erwin "Wes" Wessels

Erwin "Wes" Wessels, Jr., 88, husband of Hazel Conklin Wessels passed away at his
home Friday March 18, 2011.

Born in New Britain, CT, he was a son of the late Erwin Wessels, Sr. and Margaret Muller Wessels.

Wes was a United States Navy veteran having served during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He retired from Southern New England Telephone Company with 35 years of service. He was also a member of Bells United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 62 years Hazel Conklin Wessels of the home; 1 son, George Erwin Wessels of Abbeville, SC; 1 daughter, Elaine W. Carlson and her husband,
Robert, of Bolton, CT; 1 sister, Margaret W. Sumoski of Old Saybrook, CT; 4 grandchildren, Christine Carlson, Leah Haynes, Jana Jordan and Brad Wessels and 1 great-grandson, Noah Haynes.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at 2:00 PM in Bells United
Methodist Church with burial to follow in Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson, SC.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 21, 2011 from 6:00 until 7:30 PM at
The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home. The family will be at the home of his granddaughter Leah Haynes 72 Austin Drive Abbeville, SC.
