Ernest Melton McCord

August 9, 1937 — April 21, 2014

Ernest Melton McCord, 76, resident of 2307 Montague Ave. Ext. husband of Martha McCord passed away peacefully Monday April 21, 2014 at Self Regional Medical Center with his loving family by his side.

Born in Abbeville, SC he was a son of the late William J. McCord and Louise Hammond McCord.

He was a retired textile Card Room Specialist. He was of the Baptist faith. He will be remembered for his warm and loving smile and his friendly demeanor.

Survivors include his wife Martha Etters McCord of the home; two daughters Jeffery Lynn Robinson of Townville, SC and Tammy McCord Lee of Pickens, SC; one son Ernest Michael McCord of Anderson, SC; one step-son Robert Craine Anderson of Honea Path, SC; one sister Brenda Pruitt of Abbeville, SC; ten grandchildren and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Patricia M. Rose; a step-son James McDavid Craine and four brothers William F., James R., Joseph E. and Thomas F. McCord; two sisters Minnie Louise Taylor and Sarah Elizabeth Morris.

A Celebration of Ernest's life will be conducted Friday April 25, 2014 at 3:00 PM in Congregational Holiness Church with the Rev. Tye Sorrow officiating.

The family is at the home 2307 Montague Ave Ext.
