Edwin "Ed" Hugh Ford

Edwin "Ed" Hugh Ford Jr., 53, of 131 Highland Terrace, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003 at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood.
Born in Columbia, he was a son of the late Edwin Hugh and Beverly Ritchie Ford Sr. He graduated from Dreher High School in Columbia and received a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of South Carolina. An Army veteran, he served in Vietnam, retired as a lieutenant colonel with the National Guard and served during Desert Storm. He also retired from the S.C. Department of Probation and Parole Board. He was a Mason and a member of The Clinton Lodge No. 3 AFM and Abbeville Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a son, Edwin "Eddie" H. Ford III of Abbeville; and a daughter, Helen Chase Ford of Abbeville.
Services are at 3 Friday at Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church. Burial is in Long Cane Cemetery.
Visitation is 7-9 tonight at the home of his children, 507 N. Main St.
The family is at his children's home.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home is in charge.
