Edna Ray Rose Jones

Edna Ray Rose Jones, 77, resident of 16 Haynes St. passed away Sunday December 24, 2017 at the home of her daughter.

Edna, born March 24,1940, was the daughter of the late James Raymond and Edna Wagoner Rose.

Edna graduated from Appalachian State University in 1962 and taught in Rockingham County, NC schools for 40 years. She had a special love of animals. Edna was of the Methodist Faith.

Her husband Clyde Cecil Jones preceded Edna in death. Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Lynne (Steven) Hines and five grandchildren Marissa, Sean, Melanie, Benjamin, and Alexander Hines all of Due West, SC. She was the last survivor of her immediate family.

A celebration of Edna's life will be conducted Thursday Dec. 28, 2017 at 2:00 PM in The Chandler Chapel at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
