Douglas "Doug" Hayne Knight

Douglas "Doug" H. Knight, 58, resident of 66 Ferguson Rd. Abbeville, SC passed away Thursday Nov. 29, 2012 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Greenwood, SC, he was the son of the late Wofford H. Knight and Catherine "Tissie" Couch Knight.

Doug was employed with Jones Construction Company as a job site foreman. He was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed golfing with his buddies. Doug also enjoyed Stock Car Racing and worked as a mechanic with the Jones Racing Crew. He attended Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include 2 brothers Olin Knight of Donalds, SC and Jerry Knight of Boiling Springs, SC; a half brother Sonny Pitts of El Paso, Texas; 1 sister Toni Knight of Greenwood, SC.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday Dec. 4, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the chapel at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 PM Monday Dec. 3, 2012 at the funeral home.
