Dorothy "Dot" Baker Moss

Dorothy Baker Moss, 81, resident of 133 Highland Terrance, widow of Rev. James L. Moss passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Hospice Care of the Piedmont in Greenwood, SC.

Born April 12, 1935, in Rutherfordton, NC, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Richard Thomas Baker and Martha Hickman Baker.

Dot was a graduate of Rock Springs High School in Denver, NC and attended Queens College in Charlotte, NC. She was a very active member of Lebanon Presbyterian Church. She served with her husband as a missionary to Brazil from 1956 until 1962 with the Presbyterian Church and then in various pastorates in North and South Carolina. She enjoyed her roles as a pastor's wife, mother, grandmother, and Sunday school teacher.

Survivors include three daughters Amy Jones (Belson) of Abbeville, SC, Elza Reeves (Robert) of Anderson, SC and Beth Gregory (Mitchell) of Apex, NC; a son Lt. Col (Ret.) Marcus Moss (Dona) Yorktown, VA; granddaughters Hannah Gregory Miner (Dan), Millie Jones Sweeny (Andrew), Claira Moss; grandsons Joseph Moss (Katy), Christopher Moss (Grace), Timothy Moss (Rachel), Andrew Moss (Rebecca), Kirk Moss (Andrea), Keith Jones (Rachel), Steven Reeves, Mark Reeves, John Gregory (Tiffany), James Gregory, Thomas Gregory; eight great-grandchildren, Rory Moss, Noel Moss, Hailey Moss, Nathan Gregory, Benjamin Miner, Jude Sweeny, Georgie Sweeny and Ellie Jones; nephew David Baker and a number of special friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday July 30, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Lebanon Presbyterian Church with the Revs. Mitchell Gregory, Jeff Downs and John Fastenau officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family is at the home of Amy & Belson Jones 2327 Hwy. 72 West Abbeville, SC.

The family will receive friends Friday July 29, 2016 at the funeral home from 6:00 until 7:30 PM.

Active pallbearers will be Joseph Moss, Christopher Moss, Tim Moss, Andrew Moss, Kirk Moss, Keith Jones, Steven Reeves, Mark Reeves, John Gregory, James Gregory and Thomas Gregory.
