  Doris Simpson Smith, 75, resident of 89 Watts Rd., widow of Alan Smith passed away peacefully Tuesday Nov. 28, 2023, at her home with her loving family by her side.

Born October 8, 1948, in Abbeville, SC, she was a daughter of the late James Monroe Simpson, Sr. and Anna Goff Simpson.

  Doris was an Abbeville High School graduate and retired accountant with 47 years of service at Flexible Technologies. She was an avid Clemson Tiger fan and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a member at Rice Memorial Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, Doris was also preceded in death by her daughter Jerri Smith.

  Survivors include Deanna Smith (Reggie); grandsons Michael Smith (Kylene), Tyrese Smith (Tyteunna), two step grandsons Kedarius Elmore (Sierra) and Trajan Gillerson all of Abbeville, SC; one great- grandbaby Reece Smith; and a number of nieces and nephews.

  Funeral services will be conducted Saturday Dec. 2, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Rice Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Alvin Hodges officiating. The burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Abbeville, SC.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at Rice Memorial Baptist Church prior to the service.
