Carolyn B. Kay, 95, of Lexington, South Carolina passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025. Carolyn was born to W.J. and Martha Elberta Nelson Bradberry on December 29,1929 in Abbeville, South Carolina.

Carolyn graduated from Antreville High School and then attended business school. After many years as a housewife, she worked for the Lexington County school district as a substitute teacher and then as a full time teacher at Northside Middle School until she retired.

She is preceded in her death by her loving husband of 61 years, William H “Bill” Kay and her parents as well as six siblings: Perrin “Pete” (Mary Belle), Thomas “Tom” (Mavolyn), Johnny (Mamie), Betty Pruitt (Harold), James (Linda), and Calvin.

Carolyn is survived by her son William Kevin Kay (Brenda) of Duluth, GA and several nieces.

Carolyn is a member of Providence Presbyterian Church, she was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and lived her faith daily. She was very active in the women of the church, where she served in many roles throughout her life. She also served her community as a part time hospice companion.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Providence Presbyterian Church, 1112 Hummingbird Drive, West Columbia, SC 29169 or to Midway Baptist Church, 1218 Hwy 284, Abbeville, SC 29620.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
