Carlis Davis Williams

Carlis Davis Williams, 75, resident of 1233 South Main St. wife of Lee C. Williams passed away Thursday Aug, 13, 2009 at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood, SC.

Born in Elberton, Georgia she was a daughter of the late Howard Gordon Davis and Louise Moore Davis.

She was a retired homemaker and a member of Southside Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years Lee C. Williams of the home; 1 daughter Shirley Williams Booth and her husband Tony of Greenwood, SC; 2 sisters Marjorie Davis Alexander of Aiken, SC and Betty Davis Buffington Simpson of Abbeville, SC; 1 brother Jimmy Gordon Davis of Elberton, Georgia; 2 grandchildren Tonya Booth Branyon and her husband Dean of Abbeville, SC and T.J. Booth and his wife Sherrie of Abbeville, SC; 3 great-grandchildren Katie Lee Nash, Dylan Booth and Jeb Booth; 1 step great-grandchild Jessica Branyon.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday Aug. 16, 2009 at 3:00 PM at Southside Baptist Church with the Rev.'s Alvin Hodges, Marion Argo and Earl Hartley officiating. Entombment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

The body is at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 PM Saturday evening. The family is at the home 1233 South Main St. Abbeville, SC.

Active pallbearers will be Sammy Lewis, T.J. Booth, Dean Branyon, a nephew Sammy Jeanes, a nephew Bobby Joe Williams and John Pullin.

Honorary pallbearers will be the caregivers for Mrs. Carlis Williams.

Memorials may be made to Congregational Holiness Church 921 S. Main St. Abbeville, SC 29620.
