Carl "Doug" Douglas Thompson

Carl Douglas "Doug" Thompson, 82, of 400 Miller St. died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, at Self Regional Hospital in Greenwood.

Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late W.W. and Lucille Huckabee Thompson. He was the owner and operator of Doug's Amoco in Abbeville and upon retirement he worked at Classic Auto Sales. He was a member of Bells United Methodist Church.

Surviving are widow, Francine Campbell Thompson of the home; daughters, Jayne Thompson Hall of Abbeville, and Linda Thompson of the home; son, Billy Thompson of Abbeville; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Services are at 2 p.m. Friday at Bells United Methodist Church by the Rev. Lowry Drennen; burial will be in the church cemetery. The body is at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home where the family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

The family is at the home.

The family suggests memorials be made to Bells United Methodist Church Building Fund, 2540 Flat Rock Road, Abbeville, S.C. 29620.
