Bertha Mae Smith Harrison

October 5, 1920 — October 3, 2007

Bertha Mae Smith Harrison, 86, resident of Abbeville Nursing Home formerly of 1013 Island Ford Rd. widow of G. Wesley Harrison died Wednesday Oct. 3, 2007 at Abbeville Nursing Home.

Born in Millan, GA she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Annie Maude McGhee Smith.

She was a retired textile weaver with Bloomsburg Mills with over 40 years service. She was also a member of Sharon United Methodist Church but, the love of her life was spending time with and raising her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include 1 son, Dennis "Puddin" Harrison and his wife Pat of Abbeville, SC; daughter-in-law Bitsy Harrison of Anderson, SC; 4 grandchildren; Carol Mize of Bowman, GA, Hope Harrison of Anderson, SC, Patti Bridges of Honea Path, SC and Melanie Hallman of Greenwood, SC and 6 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son Rev. Buddy Harrison and 4 brothers Marvin, Clayton, Benjamin and Homer Smith.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday Oct. 5, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Sharon United Methodist Church with the Rev. Shawne Armstrong officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The body is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home. The family will recieve friends Friday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM prior to services at the church. The family is at the home of her son Mr. Puddin Harrison 1107 Island Ford Rd. Abbeville, SC.
