Bernice Wilson McAdams

Bernice Wilson McAdams, 97, resident of 5171 Hwy. 201, Iva, SC, widow of J.C. McAdams, passed away Wednesday March 28, 2012 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC.

Born in Abbeville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Joseph Wilson and Addie Cason Wilson.

Bernice was a retired bookkeeper with Commercial Loan & Discount for over 20 years. Upon retirement she was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and cooking delicious meals for her family and friends. She was a member of Little River Baptist Church were she was a member of the Cora Shirley Sunday School Class. Bernice will be remembered for her kind and caring demeanor by her loving family and many friends.

Survivors include a daughter, Harriett Hamilton and her husband Stacy of Anderson, SC; a son, James C. "Jimmy" McAdams of the home; 2 grandchildren, Stacy Lee Hamilton Anderson, SC and Lauren Hamilton Jackson and her husband Jay of Columbia, SC. She was the last member of her immediate family.

She was preceded in death by 3 brothers Roy, William and Neuffer Wilson.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday April 1, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Chandler Chapel at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with the Rev. Garrett Hart and Chaplin Kevin Thompson officiating. The burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery. The family is at the home 5171 Hwy. 201, Iva, SC.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 PM Saturday afternoon at the funeral home.
