Annie Ruth Greene Ward

Annie Ruth Greene Ward, 89, resident of Abbeville Nursing Home, widow of James M. Ward, passed away May 8, 2017 at the nursing home.

Born July 31, 1927 in Spartanburg, SC, she was a daughter of the late Mary Kelley Greene Bostic and W. Winslow Greene.

She was educated in Spartanburg schools, and was a former employee of Abbeville Mills, Dr. George Fort and Dr. Johnny Guy. She was a member of Abbeville First Baptist Church.

A Celebration of Annie Ruth's life will be conducted Wednesday June 7, 2017 at 2:00 PM in Long Cane Cemetery.

Survivors include two daughters Mary Ruth Reiss of Kitty Hawk, NC and Emily Ward of Greenwood, SC; a son James W. Ward (Toni) of Kingstree, SC; two grandchildren , Dr. Linlei Ward of Kingstree, SC and James C. Ward of Charleston, SC.

The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home is assisting the Ward family.
