Ann Cox Barnes

Ann Cox Barnes, 98, resident of Abbeville Nursing Home widow of Samuel Henry Barnes passed away Thursday Nov. 25, 2021 at Abbeville Area Medical Center.

Born in Walhalla, SC she was a daughter of the late Bunnie Cox and Bertha Mattison Cox.
Ann was a retired textile employee with Milliken Textiles. She was a Charter Member of Southside Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Sunday School Class. She was also a former member of the Abbeville Auxiliary. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include: three daughters Betty Scott of Abbeville, SC, Faye Hall (Joe) of Greenville, SC and Peggy Price of Columbia, SC; one sister Violet Chatos of Greenwood, SC; four grandchildren Mike Price (Maria), Michelle Ponce, Rodney Scott and Donna DeBrew; five great-grandchildren Sloan Scott, Zoe Ponce, Carson Ponce and Storey Gilchrist (Andrew) and Chris DeBrew (Morgan); three great-great-grandchildren Lillie DeBrew, Hines DeBrew and Eva Gilchrist.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday Dec. 1, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the chapel at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Hartley officiating. The burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home prior to services.
