Agnes Elizabeth Hawthorne Latimer

August 8, 1930 — September 23, 2016

Agnes Elizabeth Hawthorne Latimer, 86, resident of 193 Winn Rd. widow of James M. Latimer, Jr. passed away Friday Sept. 23, 2016 at MUSC in Charleston, SC.

Born in Abbeville, SC Aug. 8, 1930 she was a daughter of the late Charlie Lee Hawthorne and Ethel Nickles Hawthorne.

Agnes was a retired Administrative Assistant with the SC Rehabilitation Center. She was a faithful member of Greenville Presbyterian Church where she served on numerous committees within the church.

Survivors include a son Jimmy Latimer (Amy) of Alpharetta, Georgia; three daughters Pattie Latimer of the home, Pam Towe (Richard) of Six Mile, SC and Jill Collins (Brian) of Summerville, SC; two sisters Mary Emma Bowie of Due West, SC and Dora Lee Hewitt of Florence, SC; a special family friend Ricky Turner; Seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and a number of beloved nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service to celebrate the life of Agnes will be conducted Sunday Sept. 25, 2016 at 2:00 PM in Greenville Presbyterian Church.

A private graveside service was conducted Sunday Sept. 25, 2016 at 4:00 PM in Greenville Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home and Cremation Services assisted the Latimer family.
