Harry W. Chandler
Harry W. Chandler is a Liscensed Funeral Director with over 50 years of funeral directing experience in Abbeville. He is a former member of the Abbeville Co. Memorial Hospital Board of Directors and the First Citizens Bank Board. He is a former Lions Club Member and the past President of the Abbeville Co. Beautifacation Committe. He is a member of the American Legion Post #2 and Hejaz Shrine Temple, The Clinton Masonic Lodge #3 AFM, and the DAV. He is a member of Abbeville Presbyterain Church and former deacon. He is married to the former Lura Jean Williams and they have 2 children, Kin and Anne, and 2 grandchildren, Caleb and Halle.
Steve JacksonSteve Jackson is a 1976 graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta, GA. He has over 31 years of funeral directing experience. He is a Liscensed Funeral Director and embalmer in the state of South Carolina. He is a member of the Abbeville Rotary Club where he is a past President and is a Paul Harris fellow. He is a member of the Abbeville Co. Memorial Hospital Foundation Board, as is his wife. He is very active in youth activities and is past President of the Abbeville Youth Association. He is a member of the Board of Directors of First Citizens Bank of Abbeville. He is a Mason and member of the Clinton Lodge #3 AFM, a Shriner and member of the Hejaz Shrine Temple. He and his wife Carol are very active members of Main St. United Methodist Church. He is married to the former Carol Ann Sheorn and they have 3 children, Brad, Kelly, and Brooks, and grandson Bryce.
Bobby FisherBobby is an active citizen with many organizations. He is Chaplin of the Abbeville Gideon's Camp. He is a member of Due West Baptist Church were he leads congregational singing and also at Gilgal UMC. He is Adjutant and Quarter Master in Post #6087 of the V.F.W. He is also a member of the American Legion Post #2. He was a former member of the Abbeville City Council and a former EMT on Abbeville Rescue Squad for 16 years. He delivers Meals on Wheels for The Piedmont Council on Aging. He is married to the Former Laura Anne Major.
Bobby McMahanBobby grew up in the Nation Community the son of the late George A. and Mildred Waters McMahan. He retired from Michelin Tire Corporation and currently works for the Abbeville Co. School District at Diamond Hill School. He was married to the late Sandra Anne Fleming McMahan and they have three children, Lori Garner, Caleb McMahan and Jessi McMahan. He and his family are active members of Midway Baptist Church.
Conway Wilson ShirleyConway was born and raised in the city of Abbeville. She is the daughter of the late MaryJane Barron and Ray Wilson. Conway graduated from Winthrop College where she received a BS in Child Development. She moved to Due West when she married Mike Shirley who works with Milliken & Co. at the Abbeville Plant.
Conway is very active in Abbeville County and some of her civic activities include service on the board of directors of the Heritage House, as a tutor for the Abbeville County School District, as a coach for the Abbeville and Due West Recreation Department, as chairman for the Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society as well as county donation chairman for the American Cancer Society. She is also a member of the Abbeville County Historical Society, Friends of the Library, Old Ninety Six Genealogical Society and is a charter member of the Due West Lions Club, where she has served as President. She is a former member of the Major John Bowie DAR Chapter and The Abbeville Woman's Club, where she was recipient of several awards for her service. She also received the Operation Impact Community Service Award and the Greater Abbeville Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award.
She remains very active at Main Street United Methodist Church, where she has been a lifetime member. She enjoys teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, helping with Bible School and participating with The Ann Moore Circle.
Conway enjoys caring for grandchildren, Mati and Reed, while daughter, Reagan (Matt) Cox teaches 5th grade at Diamond Hill Elementary. Conway "retired" from The Department of Social Services and has a son, Carlyle, who will be entering Clemson as a freshman.
John Ed McMahanJohn was born in Abbeville County, lived in Lowndesville, attended Lowndesville Elementary School, and graduated from Calhoun Falls High School. He is a veteran of the USAF. He has an Associate Degree in Business Adminstration from Piedmont Tec. and a Bachelors Degree in Business Management from from Limestone College. John married Pearl Goff of McCormick. He and his wife, who reside in Abbeville, SC, have two children and three grand-children. He is a member of Abbeville First Baptist Church and the Abbeville Gideon Camp. John was employed with Flexible Technologies for 36 years before retiring in February of 2006.
Pat ArgoPat is the former Patricia Scott of Greenwood. She is married to the Rev. R. Marion Argo and resides in Abbeville where she serves as organist of the Abbeville Pentecostal Holiness Church. Pat retired from School District 60 after 28 years of service.
Richard A. SimpsonRichard has been a resident of the Warrenton Community since 1945. He is a member of Warrenton Presbyterian Church were he is an Elder and a member of the church session. He is a retired, self-employed Abbeville business man after 30 years. He was the former Chief of the Abbeville Rescue. He is a US Army Veteran. He retired as Abbeville County Coroner after 28 years of service.
William Vessie BlanchettWilliam has been married to Myrtis Campbell Blanchett for 42 years. They have one son, John Gregory Blanchett who is married to Rebecca Hodges. They have 5 grandaughters, Nikki, Kristen, Kasey, Faith and McKayla. William graduated from Abbeville High School in 1960 and served in the South Carolina National Guard for 8 years. He is a member of Bells United Methodist Church. He retired from the City of Abbeville Water Plant in 2004, with 28 years of service.
